I recently got my hands on something new, all natural. It was a beard care set made for travelling made by British company Grizzly Adam. Since I published that video, I used the products during a short trip and made some experiences which I want to share with you today. Because of the information I gave you earlier, I’m going to focus only on the products and results here.
The Video Review
What’s in the box?
The set contains 30ml Beard Wash, 30ml Beard Oil and 60ml Beard Balm, packed into a nice gift box. All liquids are filled in travel friendly and easy to use bottles with practical dispensers.
Grizzly Adam promotes the package as an all natural product, which I can luckily confirm. None of the 3 parts contain chemical substances, which is a big plus. I like!
The lists of ingredients are easy to read on the backside of the box, which also deserves a thumbs up. Sometimes it’s printed so small, that it’s kinda impossible to read (because manufactures don’t want you to read it).
Aqua (Water), Decyl Glucoside, Lauryl Betaine, Cedrus Atlantica (Cedarwood Oil), Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Xanthan Gum, Aloe Barbadenis (Aloa Vera) leaf Juice, Phenoxyethanol, Citric Acid, Benzoic Acid, Dehydroacetic Acid Limonene Citral
Prunus Amygdalus Dulis (Almond) Oil, Argania Spinosa Kernel (Argan) Oil, Cedrus Deodara (Cedarwood) Oil, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Limonene, Linalool
Cera Aalba (Bees wax), Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Prunus Dulcis (Almond) Oil, Theobroma cacao (Cocoa Butter), Citrus Aurantifolia Oil (Lime essential oil), Cedrus Atlantica wood oil (Cedarwood essential oil), Limonene Citral
The Beard Wash
When I initially smelled the beard wash during my hands on video, I got a bit sceptical because it smelled kinda old and odd. But after the first usage, I must correct this first impression – the smell is OK, nothing special, still little different from the other products but acceptable and vanishes quickly.
Because of the bottle, it’s easy to take some drops of the wash out, but unfortunately it’s not flight save and leaks on flights (caused by cabine pressure).
The Beard wash has a pretty runny consistence. It happened to me a few times that it ran out of my palms while applying. The liquid could be a bit thicker, that would make the handling easier.
The wash produces a good amount of fine foam. This is not necessarily the case for natural products.
The Grizzly Adam Beard Wash gives a shiny finish, which i liked. The smell vanishes after some minute – good for perfume users.
The Beard Oil
The Premium Beard Oil comes in the same bottle as the wash, has the same smell as the balm and a pretty thick consistence. That makes it good to use. It has a rich formula, based on Argan and Almond oils, which gives a very nice shine plus care for the face skin below the beard as well. Plus, it’s also free of artificial substances.
The Beard balm
Finally, the Balm. It has a very creamy consistence, made with Shea- and Cacao Butter. Immediately after rubbing it gets oily and can easily be applied. It smells exactly like the Beard Oil and it’s perfect for a nice grooming finish.
The Beard balm gives a very light hold, thus I would recommend it for medium long beards.
The regular price on manufacturers Website is 35 GBP. That”s a lot of money for those little bottles! While I personally think it’s worth to pay some extra for natural made products, made by small companies, this product also wants to convince with it’s travel convenience. But the bottles leak under pressure, thus this premium paid extra benefit is gone and the value becomes much smaller.
Grizzly Adam Travel Set Rating
- good overall results
- clever bottles
- bottles are leaking under pressure
