[Review] Blackbeards Merlin Beard Oil

Blackbeards Merlin Beard Oil

Blackbeards is a well known, German dealer for all kinds of grooming products. The guys recently launched their very own range of beard care products and one of the first is the new Blackbeards Merlin Beard Oil , which I got my hands on.

What the producer says about Blackbeards Merlin beard oil

  • A sophisticated combination of carrier oils: grape seed oil, jojoba oil and argan oil
  • With squalane
  • It is intensely fresh, woody and tart thanks to the essential oils of the Siberian fir and virgin juniper
  • The effect: The beard oil gives your beard a silky shine and makes it noticeably smoother, for an obviously well-groomed beard
  • Use it several times a day, preferably in the morning and in the evening

Check of ingredients

Contains Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Squalane, Abies Sibirica (Needle) Oil, Juniperus Virginiana Oil, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Limonene, Tocopherol.

Blackbeards Merlin Beard Oil is completely natural and doesn’t contain plastic. If you want to go completely natural, check this video and try to make your own beard oil.

The Blackbeards Merlin Beard Oil has a nice wooden, tangy scent matching the magical Wizard branding. I can imagine Gandalf’s beard smells like this 🙂 coming straight from Mordor’s dark woods.

Readers of my blog know, I don’t like products with scents too strong, because they often don’t go together with Eau De Toilet fragrances. Luckily, the scents of the Blackbeards Merlin Beard Oil vanished after 20-25 Minutes, so that’s not a deal breaker here.

As you’d expect from a beard oil, it softens and gives a nice shine. The viscosity is thicker than other oils I used before, what I like – it doesn’t run out of your hands and makes handling easier.

BTW: If you ask yourself what’s better – oil or beard balm – read my article about the differences (this one in German only).

The reviewed product was given to me as a free sample by and I got not paid for this article.
