I started something new! I call it „ Beard Instructor Forrest Orgasm“ and itʼs my very own range of beard care products. I have no intention to sell it or something, no worries, Iʼm just curious how to make natural cosmetics so itʼs just available for myself (and some of my bearded friends for sure).
I started with a very small starter kit I ordered a couple of days ago – some shea butter, bee wax, oils and a couple of scents. Meanwhile, I made my first experiences creating some balm variations. I gotta say, the basic work is super simple and can be done easily by everyone! Just heat up the wax and butter ingredients in a bath of water, melt and mix with the oils. Let it cool down et voilâ. You can find tons of recipes on the web, I used one from gentsbible (sorry, German only).
The result is very nice and whatʼs more, you know exactly what it was made of.
So far, so good. Friends loved the smell of Mint, Grapefruit and Vetiver so far. But what got stucked on my mind is exactly this – the scent. For sure, it is just a detail, but for me as a niche parfum freak and collector, my product needs to be something special, I want a better balanced and unique scent (following the principles of the triangle). Because, as everyone can create these grooming products easily at home, the scent makes the big difference here and I want to create something that you can’t buy everywhere.
So I started to dive deeper into the whole field of home parfumery and Iʼm going to build up a little laboratory for it. It will need some time to build up the whole thing, as many of the oils are very expensive, but for now, Iʼm going to read about parfume creation. I will keep you posted.
